A cloud direct connect establishes a dedicated network connection from enterpises premises to one or more cloud providers. This makes it possible for enterprises to establish private connectivity between the cloud provider and the data center, office or colocation environment. a cloud direct connect will help your business reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput and provide a more consistent network experience than a public internet-based connection.

Why use a cloud direct connect?

  • In accessing the cloud, businesses access their existing internet service provider (ISP) and public internet connection. Internet is not reliable and secured to transfer data between your locations, data centers, and cloud providers.
  • Direct connects are used to establish a private, dedicated connection from your business headquarters or branch office to the cloud provider thru P2P links or MPLS.
  • Enterprises decide to utilize their ISP for internet access (DIA) services. Normally businesses does not share that connection or bandwidth with other customers.
